Hello and thanks for visiting! My name is Alyssa, and I am the creator of BabyFoodIdeas. My goal is to share simple food ideas for babies (who are ready for weaning), toddlers and adults.
My parents are from Barbados and Trinidad, and I was born and raised in the French speaking province of Quebec, Canada. My husband and I have three wonderful children under the age of six. I am a huge supporter of breastfeeding and baby wearing.
My educational background includes a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in Communications, and a Bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in Professional Writing. I worked full time as a Social Media Manager at a marketing company before becoming a full time stay at home mom. My hobbies include Photography, blogging and of course, making food for children at the stage of weaning and beyond.
I love making homemade food for our children, as it isn’t just cheaper than store bought, but it’s also the only way to be 100% sure of what the ingredients are. A LARGE percent of illnesses are health related, and therefore easily preventable with a good diet. Below is a list of the eating habits in our home (for the most part). Basically I aim for a plant based diet that is primarily raw.
