With so many strollers on the market today, searching for the right one can be quite overwhelming. Which colour should you get? Three wheels or four? Single or double? All these questions plagued my mind, and I was really stuck. The stroller I had previously was a jogger with three wheels, and it really was not the right fit for us. The tire kept losing air, it was a nightmare to push in the winter, and I often pinched my fingers when collapsing it for storage. I had received the JOOVY Caboose Ultralight Graphite Stand-On Tandem Stroller to test and review for you all, and right off the bat, I was pleased. The kids enjoy it as well, and I will share some reasons why it’s such a great fit for our family.
Before I get into detail about why I find this stroller to be a good fit for us, I will first share the basic details on this particular model. It’s basically a sit and stand stroller, where you can have a child sitting in the front, and an older child either sitting or standing in the back. It comes with a car seat adapter, so if you have a newborn, you can take them for a stroll without having to invest in a second car seat compatible stroller. It’s pretty versatile in that sense, because it can accommodate a wider age range, unlike other strollers on the market. You can even purchase a forward facing reclining seat separately, and quickly turn the standing platform into a second seat for your child to lean back and enjoy the ride. It weights only 21 pounds, and is really easy to open and close. Why is this a good feature? Well, with three children in our home, it’s really hard to just “grab n go” for outdoor activities. But having a double stroller that unfolds within seconds, means my life becomes that much easier.
My Absolutely Favourite Features:
•The canopy on the stroller extends to the rear. This came in so handy on really hot days when the sun was blazzing down on us. Kids can get pretty agitated when they’re uncomfortable, so having this feature means shelter for both the front and rear passenger.
•The 3 point harness is wonderful. Our 1.5 year old used to love unbuckling herself in our previous stroller, but these ones, while easy for adults, can be a bit trickier for her. I am happy to say that she has given up any attempts to escape, and sits comfortably with little to no fuss.
•It comes with a parent organizer. This is a food blog, so I couldn’t write a review without mentioning how this product ties into that. The parent organizer comes with sturdy pocket and slots to fit my cell phone, house keys and more. But more importantly, the flexible rounded pockets in the front don’t just fit my water bottle, but they extend so much, that my large glass jars of smoothies fit as well! My kids aren’t the only ones snacking on the go.
•It was fairly easy to assemble. I was tempted to ask my husband to assemble it for me, but I suppose it takes away from the whole review experience if I hadn’t at least given it a try. The instruction manual included a detailed diagram, which allowed me to assemble it within minutes all by myself. Take that, Ikea!
Overall, we are VERY pleased with this model. I do plan on purchasing the front facing rear seat, and probably the plastic cover as well for those rainy days. Our children are ages 6, 3 and 1. Whether we have another child or not, this stroller has at least another year or two with us, and I believe the accessories for this model will compliment this experience even more.
