I’m not sure if this is one of my favourites because of the many textures, or the actual flavour. There’s just so much to it, and the fact that it takes little effort to make just amazes me.
Who need a blender when you can hand mash? Children who are developmentally ready for solids can eat something of this texture (no teeth required), so instead of blending and making it all one thin consistency, why not lightly hand mash and let them go at it? It’s great sensory play as well!
1 large carrot
1/2 head of cauliflower
1/2 large Japanese sweet potato
1 teaspoon turmeric power
1 teaspoon curry powder
Wash and chop all ingredients
Add them to a pot filled 1/2 way
Add tumeric and curry powder
Steam together until tender
Lightly hand mash all ingredients
Please note that peeling the carrot and sweet potato is optional. Just be sure they are initially chopped small so that everything can be easily consumed for little ones without teeth.
